We Urge a ‘No’ vote on the Gowanus “Business Improvement District”

Voice of Gowanus is concerned that the organizations behind the Gowanus BID have a compromised track record when it comes to advocating for the health and safety of our community, particularly pertaining to the toxicity of the land and groundwater surrounding the Gowanus Canal, and what we see as insufficient NYS Department Of Environmental Conservation and US EPA transparency, oversight and enforcement.

If the BID is successful, it could end up as the de facto organization that speaks for the community which could sideline serious public health concerns

ELiGIBILITY TO VOTE: All those who live and/or work and/or utilize shops, and services in the area can vote on BID website HERE 

Voting is now through Summer 2025
